Tarkolan

Editorial Methodology

THE RESEARCH AND EDITORIAL STANDARD.

A schematic overview of the processes, standards, and sourcing principles that govern every piece of content published in the Tarkolan journal.

01 — The Five-Stage Editorial Process

How Every Published Piece Is Constructed

01

Topic Identification

Research phase · 2-5 days

Topics are selected based on three criteria: relevance to the Indonesian men's active lifestyle context, availability of peer-reviewed supporting literature, and practical applicability to the journal's readership. Commercial considerations do not influence topic selection.

02

Literature Review

Sourcing phase · 3-7 days

Relevant published research is identified via nutritional and sports science databases. The journal cites peer-reviewed studies, qualified professional opinion, and structured field observation. Unpublished claims, anecdotal reports, and commercially motivated content are excluded.

03

Draft and Context Integration

Composition phase · 2-5 days

The draft integrates research findings with observational context specific to Indonesian men's daily circumstances. This phase involves translating research findings into actionable, clearly described approaches — without overstating their scope or universality.

04

Specialist Review

Quality phase · 1-3 days

The lead specialist reviews each draft for accuracy, appropriate scope, and compliance with the journal's editorial standards. This review confirms that no unsupported claims, stop-listed vocabulary, or commercially biased language has entered the draft.

05

Publication and Archiving

Archive phase · 1 day

Approved content is published with full source documentation retained in the editorial archive. Published pieces are reviewed at six-month intervals against newly available research — outdated guidance is annotated or updated accordingly.

02 — Sourcing Standards

What Sources Tarkolan Uses and Why

Published Research

The primary source category. Studies published in peer-reviewed nutritional science, sports physiology, and behavioural wellness journals form the factual backbone of Tarkolan's content. Studies are cited with publication year and journal name.

Qualified Professional Opinion

Commentary from qualified nutrition professionals, movement coaches, and behavioural wellness practitioners is used to contextualise research findings and bridge the gap between academic findings and practical daily application.

Structured Field Observation

The journal's own structured observation of how documented wellness approaches perform in the Jakarta urban context. Field notes are dated, documented, and clearly identified as observational rather than research-derived.

03 — Verification

Independent Batch Verification

Where Tarkolan produces its own programme documentation or supplement guidance, active ingredients and composition data are sourced from documented suppliers with each batch accompanied by a certificate of composition.

Request Documentation

Sourcing Documentation

Active ingredients referenced in programme guidance are sourced from documented suppliers. Sourcing prioritises suppliers whose facilities maintain food-grade processing standards.

Independent Batch Review

Ingredient profiles in Tarkolan programmes are selected based on published nutritional research and undergo independent batch verification for composition accuracy and labelling consistency.

Nutrient Role Standards

Nutrient role descriptions used in programme frameworks adhere to the vocabulary established in published nutritional literature — for example: zinc supports normal cognitive function and immune health; magnesium contributes to normal energy metabolism.

Disclosure Practices

Tarkolan is an independent wellness resource focused on everyday nutrition and active lifestyle practices for men. The journal is not affiliated with any governmental or institutional body, and its content does not constitute professional nutritional advice. We recommend speaking with a qualified wellness or nutrition professional before introducing any supplement to your daily routine, particularly if you have specific dietary requirements.

04 — Sourcing Principles

Supplier Selection and Traceability

When Tarkolan references specific ingredients or nutritional components in programme documentation, those references are based on verified sourcing records. The journal maintains a documented supply chain review process that covers three key areas:

A.

Food-Grade Processing Standards

Suppliers are required to demonstrate that their processing facilities maintain food-grade standards, with documentation available on request.

B.

Chain-of-Custody Records

Sourcing prioritises suppliers whose facilities maintain documented chain-of-custody records from origin to delivery. Traceability is reviewed at each restocking cycle.

C.

Composition Certificates

Each batch referenced in Tarkolan programme documentation is accompanied by a certificate of composition confirming ingredient identity and concentration accuracy.

05 — Corrections Policy

Updates, Corrections, and Retraction

Tarkolan applies a transparent corrections and retraction policy. Where published content is found to be inaccurate, misleading, or superseded by newer research, the journal acts as follows:

  • Minor corrections: Factual errors are corrected in-place with a dated correction notice appended to the article. The original text is not deleted but annotated.

  • Significant updates: Where newer research substantially changes the recommended approach, the relevant section is updated and the change is noted with reference to the new source material.

  • Retractions: Articles that cannot be corrected and amended are retracted in full with a published notice explaining the reason. Retracted content is archived but marked clearly as no longer endorsed.

Corrections and updates are logged in the editorial archive (revision records maintained from publication date). Readers who identify potential inaccuracies in published content are encouraged to contact the editorial team via [email protected].
